Hushabye Mountain - Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

I am not use to being so distant from friends. It has been a tough time these past few weeks. I lost my job, however gained so much more in the process. I find myself still giving more strength than I am able to muster for myself. I see things slipping in and out of a reality that I have lived for eighteen years.

I do have a new reality and she stayed the night. Beautiful, blond hair, and the most deep blue eyes that a grandfather could swim another lifetime in. My first over-night with Lily and she took me so far away from my troubles. There was no other world as she listened to me sing this song. Her eyes widened and her smile relaxed into a gentle calm.

First night at gp's house, sleep did not come until 3 a.m., and for me not at all. The years have past like yesterday's tides and I am far away from the father instinct. The sun had not even peaked the eastern hills and I was poking a motionless baby, I forgot how they don't move when they sleep. She did finally open her eyes to a sunny day and a bright smile. She laid in the crib and waited as I made my first bottle in over 15 years. Before she got the bottle, there was the other thing I haven't done in a long time, and not with a baby girl...The diaper change! I got lucky this time, it was only wet.

Mom showed up about 20 minutes after Lily had to deal with grandpa's weird moments. I am grateful that her little angel wings didn't get caught in the diaper change, and do you remember how difficult it is to put their halo back on in the morning?

Enough from me, I got to go play somewhere else. Bless all of you and I will be back. BTW, Ron, you are putting out some great post, I just can't focus.

Love Y'all

Been there, done that with Wal Mart. Those of us that have worked there know that it's only a facade about caring for employees. The only thing they care about is the almighty dollar. I'm not surprised they are being sued right and left. I've witnessed alot of those injustices myself. Six years was enough for me and I moved on to better things. Hang in there and I hope everything turns out good for you.

When Mr. Walton died, it went from people to paper. I will hang in, I have a granddaughter to help be president.

Cuddle - are you still working for Wally world - thought you left - I am unclear. meanwhile hug the baby..

Glad you are enjoying my posts - I hope they are helpful.

i understand the thing about focusing - I am at a rocky place at my work - at least 6 people will be told this week they don't have a job - the economy stinks! I called one of my friends in the agency to get her read on the situation - best she could say is I have a job for a year... I will be interviewing this week - at my age, I can't afford to be told that I have no job in a week - which is what is happening to people - I will not put my life into the hands of people who make snap judgments...

so needless to say, focusing is a stretch for me too....

peace

Hi Ron. I have not worked for Wal-Mart for over two weeks. I did not leave, as much as was tossed out for being a proper associate with no other choice. Considering I am a night worker, upper management is not available like it is to day associates. An assistant manager doubled my load because I opposed him and I was fired without being able to defend my actions. The very same actions that Wal-Mart tells us to use.

I am sorry to hear about your situation. I do understand about being further down the road looking for a job, but maybe we did enough for God here and He already has our next destination picked out. You know how God likes to surprise his children. For now we must both have faith.

Cuddle

We have found a wonderful support group here on the stream. Let's pray for each other and support each other...

This is one thing I can do. I pray like a house on fire when it comes to friends and you have always been good to me. Double duty tomorrow, man's work and God's will. I can't wait for this one.

I know that you have a great faith, Cuddle...and it will serve you well. And if it means change...trust that it will be a very good thing. As you pointed out to Ron...maybe you have done what you had to do where you were and it is time for something else.

You are always in my thoughts and prayers. You have been a good friend and I appreiciate that more than you know.

I know I love my little family at Wal-Mart and would do anything in my power to help. This time, however, if I go back they have to stand on their own feet.

There is a part of me that is fighting God's will, I can feel it. This is causing a conflict in my soul. I don't know the path anymore.

I know, I know: Let go and let God.

Who would have thought a 6'3" man could be wrapped around such a little finger. I will let Lily know that auntie Kenzie thanks her, she did a great job.

I pray that the storm is not getting you and misses all together. I don't watch the news so I don't know.

Best to you all.
