 My Heroes Are Lost

My father went away to serve his country. He did Vietnam and Korea, and he is still doing it. I have 19 year old friends that have seen their captain on their face. They may come back to their country but they will never come home. Cory is on his third tour but he wasn't the same after the first. We all lose in conflict. Dad is an old man but his light died to many years ago. His candle was cold and hard when I was born. Final straw for dad was his mothers death and my birth. He never got it and I tried so hard to make him happy.

I found a tribute and I love it. Please tell me what you saw...

 Remember When

Remember when you stayed up to late to see these classics when they were new?

We are not showing our age, just our class.

 Lives Worth Living

The fire still burns beneath this frozen heart. I will not admit defeat with my struggle with love yet I find my heart giving way to emotions of pure exuberance. I ponder why at this time my eyes feel inclined to gaze upon a forbidden beauty. A magnificent creation from the Gods and I am drawn to her. She is a siren and I must not gaze upon her. Her songs vex me yet I listen as if she could somehow bring me fathoms beyond my reach. I want to be free from this prison and she binds me with her presence. She sits in wait outside my reach for the rebirth; in wait for new love from my heart. I fear what could happen if I once again take a chance on this siren of love so I restrain myself within my safe haven.

I watch from a distance as she works her magic on those surrounding her. She controls them and I wonder if this is her plan for me. I draw near to commit her angelic face to my memory. The closer I approach the further my head bows so she can not see my curiosity with her, but she knows. I draw neigh in hopes of one word to me from her lips but no she fains away and takes care of the others. As I pass by I inhale her essence and remember the unspoken words. Curious, I take yet another sheepish glance and caught the same returned. We passed filled with new hope and desires.

I know she will have to go back to her world and I will be left with mine. There is no hope for us together but there is hope. I only hope she is here long enough to see this dragon fly.

 Father and Son

Today i speak to the youth.

Parents love in a way that they want you to grow up. Ronan Keaton and Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens) gave us the beauty from the beast. I love this version and I hope you do too.

Remember this is just a moment.
This rendition is a good one though.
